Upgrade Accounts - Google Warns All Gmail Users

It occurs frequently. To view a document or access emails, a recognizable sign-in box appears on your computer and requests your account password. Because it occurs so frequently, we no longer pay attention and just follow the procedures automatically. However, Google cautions that this is risky and should be stopped before your account is terminated.

Even though the FBI reports that "online scams raked in a record $16.6 billion last year, which is up 33% in just one year and are growing more sophisticated. Google cautions that the majority of Gmail users still rely on older sign-in methods like passwords and two-factor authentication (2FA).Thus, it's less likely that you'll notice an assault until it's too late.

Google says, "We want to move beyond passwords altogether, while keeping sign-ins as easy as possible." That entails increasing the security of your Google Account to include a passkey. This prevents intruders from accessing your account since the passkey is tied to your own devices and cannot be stolen or circumvented. Most Gmail users still do not have passkeys, but everyone should add them as soon as possible.
